Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Boring food and small portions for what you pay. Very bland, nothing was impressive about the restaurant and service was just ok. I was pretty disappointed as I love Mexican food. Won't go back.

Good/bad. The food was good and so was the service. But we had extreme fighting on the television in front of us. They claimed they couldn't change the channel. So we had yo watch grown men beat the snot out of each other and bleed all over the place.

My boyfriend and I shared the fajita's for 2 and we had enough fajita's for 10. Amazing food, great service and a neat location. It's nice to see places finally going up on this side of Maple Grove.

My husband and I ate there tonight and were pleasantly surprised. The fresh salsa was wonderful - light and fresh and bright with a nice balance of flavors. We each ordered a vegetarian option, and we both enjoyed our meals. They were not over-seasoned and the flavor of the fresh veggies was lovely. Maybe Teresa's is settling in now...we had hesitated trying it due to bad reviews. But we were delighted and we will definitely be back!

We've been here each of the last 2 years we visited the area. Busy place a nice diversion from the chains. Food was good but nothing to yell about. Good margaritas and a nice atmosphere. Good bar too and lots of TVs.

My family and I had a very enjoyable dinner experience at this above average Mexican restaurant. The de rigeur tortilla chips were quite good and the salsa was a nice medium spiciness which even my 5 year old daughter enjoyed. I ordered Lindo's Special which was steak, chicken, and shrimp with peppers over rice and flour tortillas. It was great! The shrimp was succulent and the entire meal satisfying. My wife had the chimichanga. She especially liked the cheese sauce it was smothered in. If you order from the children's menu I recommend the Kid's Combination which consists of a soft shell taco, Spanish rice, and frijoles refritas (if you're going to bring your kid to a Mexican restaurant they deserve the experience). The menu overall was fairly standard for a Mexican restaurant in Minnesota (not a ton of adventurous options) but for first timers I would recommend sticking to the House Specials. Finally, the service was good. Our server Michele was prompt and courteous and even bantered with me in Spanish which was fun. I definitely would come again and bring friends or family with me.

We have now been to Teresa's three times, this last meal was completely under whelming and overpriced considering the quality. Lets start off with the kids meal. Frozen French Fry's and Frozen Chicken Nuggets. I get it, its a Mexican restaurant, but at $5 a pop for a kids meal you could at least find a quality frozen chicken nuggets. What was served to my toddler last night was extremely low quality. Both mine and my wife's meal had Verde sauce, the sauce, although tasty, looked like it had sat around for a couple of hours, it had the appearance and texture of a dryish green paste. I had the carnitas verde, the carnitas would have had little flavor if it were not for the verde sauce. My wife's enchiladas verde were not any better. The rice and beans were just ok, but also underwhelming. The chips and cheese sauce is good, the salsa is ok, but has no spice whatsoever, The big beers, probably the best item on the menu were good as well. We return to Teresa's out of convenience, but after this last trip, I'm not sure we will give it another shot. This last meal, two adults and a toddler set us back $50, that's juts too much money considering the relatively low quality.

Nice clean atmosphere! We were there for our first time on a Saturday evening and were seated and served quickly. Staff was friendly . Food was pretty decent, not overly authentic which is what I prefer, but maybe slightly over priced. We'll def try this place again!

We ordered the cheese dip, melted velveeta white cheese, nothing more...... jalapeno poppers, right out of a frozen bag...... fish tacos, a couple of ounces of fish at best and weird hard flour tortilla....... and a burrito, more melted velveeta and several of the ingredients that where supposed to be there were not. The salsa is very tomato-y and they do not have a hotter salsa, when I asked she brought hot sauce in a bottle. And NO substitutions allowed. I lived in El Paso and Mexico for 8 years. This is not good mexican food. Maybe we just didn't get the right food....

The location map and address on the other Teresa's Maple Grove Yelp page is incorrect. This one is not entirely spot on map-wise (it's close), but apparently everyone has decided to put their reviews and tips on the other one. That has nothing to do with my review, but it might help to fix that. Overall, my experience here was nothing to get excited about nor a reason to stamp feet and pout all the way home. I started with a Texas Margarita, which was surprisingly good (not overly sweet) and earned points with me because I could actually taste the tequila. Too many restaurant margs taste like pure juice; not this one. Enjoyed the complimentary chips and salsa and ordered a Dos Equis amber to sip while we waited to order our entrees. The freebie chips are nicely done; not too salty and not soggy. I had a difficult time making a choice as the menu is about 8 pages thick, but that is not a knock on them, just a critique of my own inability to narrow down what I wanted. After hemming and hawing for far too long, as evident by the withering glances from my starving dinner companions, I basically punted and went with the 'choose 3 for $9.95' option. Chicken burrito, chicken enchilada, and chicken chalupa; upcharge of a buck to "make it supreme" by adding lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream, and cheese. Shouldn't that be standard? Either way, the food was a bit bland to me and it all pretty much looked and tasted the same, reminding me of a Jim Gaffigan comedy riff about Mexican food. I ended up overdoing it with hot sauce trying to get it to taste like something, which resulted in burning lips, watering eyes, and running nose, but I'll be damned if it didn't kick the taste level up a few notches! To end this little ditty, I will say that I saw no cause to diss Teresa's with a 2-star rating, but the food (which, after all, is why I eat at restaurants) failed to elevate it beyond the merely average. I will be back and will try, try again.

I'm a native Texan so that might give you some insight into my particular expectations when it comes to Mexican food. I have a general opinion that Minnesota has bad Mexican food, but this place helped to better that opinion. This place lacked the spice and heat that I prefer in my Mexican food, but the taste and substance was there. The chips and salsa were a good start and the entrees were very appetizing. Overall a good place and atmosphere for some yummy Mexican food!

My wife and I have been there multiple times. Even though the price is a little higher than the other Mexican restaurant we feel that it is worth the price. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. The fresh salsa and the chips are good. The deep fried ice cream is pretty tasty as well ;)

Went on Saturday for my wife's birthday. Got to Teresa's about 6:30, it wasn't busy and we were able to sit immediately. Chips and water delivered shortly after we sat down. The waitress took our beverage order and then disappeared. She delivered the waters and the kids drinks not the adult beverages. After several minutes she delivered the adult beverages and we decided to place our food order. We enjoyed our drinks and the chips and salsa. Unfortunately, after waiting 30-40 minutes no food, I saw the manager and asked him to please check on our order as people who sat after us were eating already. He said he'd check, he never retuned with an update. A waitress, not ours, walked by we asked her... Nothing. Our waitress finally came by and apologized and said the food would be no charge because of the wait. It's now been over an hour with no food. After more than an hour our food had finally arrived. The food is always good, which was the only good part of the experience. We received the bill and it was discounted 25%, if the waitress hadn't already said they were going to take care of it, no charge, that "discount for our long wait" wouldn't have been okay. I talked to the manager and he brought the bill down 50%, okay that's okay, the food was good and we did eat it. I mentioned that we were there to celebrate my wife's birthday and he said we should have told them...I said our waitress was non-existent and you never came back with an update on our order. I hope they get the service issue taken care of including the totally ineffective manage.

So disappointed. I hadn't heard good things, but really wanted to try it out anyway. I so badly would like to find a local Mexican restaurant I love. While we waited for a table, we chose to have a drink at the bar. First, although the bar was not busy, it took quite a bit of time for the bartender to ask for my order. My favorite drink at a Mexican spot is a Mojito, and I expect them to be authentic with muddled mint and lime. Out came a bottle with a mix....that was pretty horrible - though I am picky. He was not friendly to begin with, but was more unhappy when I asked for a margarita instead. It came also premixed, and not impressive taste. We had a friendly server once seated, food was just ok. First impressions are everything -- I'm sure ours affected the rest of our experience here.

I want to like it here but something is always off putting. $10.25 for a burrito with no sides, only meat, onions, peppers and cheese sauce? Too much. Water never refilled, never asked if we needed anything else. Back to El Rodeo...
